Rotary Floor Scrubbing

Rotary Floor ScrubbingRotary Floor Scrubbing
Cleaning to remove excessive soil and impacted dirt.

Equipment:

  • Dust Control Mop
  • Warning Sign – “cleaning in progress”
  • Protective Gloves and Goggles
  • Rotary Floor Machine with blue, brown or green pad
  • Detergent
  • Mop and Wringer Bucket or tank on floor machine
  • Wet and Dry Vacuum
Method:
  • Sweep area to be scrubbed with dust control mop
  • Wearing protective equipment, dilute detergent in the tank or bucket using cool or warm water and following manufacturer’s instructions
  • Put out warning signs and close off area if necessary
  • Soak floor with cleaning agent using mop and bucket and allow to dwell for 5-10 minutes – do not allow to dry
  • Scrub with floor machine using correct pad and work backwards. Work slower in heavily soiled areas and flip or change pad when clogged
  • Remove dirty water with a wet and dry vacuum or mop before it dries on the floor, working from a dry area
  • Rinse the area thoroughly with cold clean water
  • Clean equipment and pads and remove warning sign when the floor is dry
Beware:
  • Ensure the correct chemical is used
  • Ensure the correct pad is used – otherwise the floor will dry dirty and may be damaged
  • Do not scrub too quickly – you may leave dirty, shiny patches
  • Ensure sufficient rinsing – if not, any floor finish or seal put down will peel up from floor
